C.G. Jung explained human behaviour through operation of psyche functions. The operation of psyche functions influences decision making process, as they collect all input data. Psyche functions are run automatically, are hardly to be controlled, as many judgments and actions are shaped through them. If one tries to limit the strongest psyche function, he or she practically fights over his or her own Ego. Certainly, for some reasons and in some situations we may adapt our behaviour to another people, but in incompatible relationship unceasing adaptation is fruitless and lacks result.

There are totally 8 psyche functions that are linked to pair of character traits.

There is a strict classification of psyche functions in socionics whose understanding is crucial and indispensable for getting complete idea on operation of psyche functions.

The first classification – according to process. Irrational functions largely deals with perception of objects, rational functions are involved in preparation of decision making. It is important to note that rational functions are source, but not means of carrying out decision!

The secon classification – according to expression. Extraverted functions are oriented to progress, expansion, quantity. Contrary to them, introverted functions are oriented to stability, deepening, quality.

The third classification – according to orientation. Static functions are focused on state of the object, dynamic functioons are focused on movememts of object in time.

A summary of this classification is presented, as follows below:
